As a trusted fit-out partner for Unite Students, Project Interiors was appointed to deliver a complex, full-scale refurbishment of their largest purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) site in Glasgow.
The project began with an intensive 20-week design and planning phase, managed by our experienced pre-development team in collaboration with specialists across interior design, architecture, M&E, and structural engineering. Uniquely, we were required to provide cost updates throughout the evolving design process to enable accelerated delivery, rather than waiting for finalised plans.
The refurbishment scope included 480 en-suite bedrooms, 45 studios, 73 cluster kitchens, and two amenity spaces across six buildings. Delivered on an ambitious 25-week programme, the site operated nearly around the clock- 24 hours a day, six days a week. Our team deployed full day and night management, including a dedicated finishing foreman and on-site health and safety manager, to ensure seamless delivery and compliance at every stage.
Adding to the complexity, one of the buildings remained occupied during construction. We worked closely with Unite Students to minimise disruption through carefully controlled noise levels and scheduling, ensuring the safety and comfort of residents throughout.
Valued at £6.5 million, the project was a resounding success, achieved through meticulous planning, expert coordination, and close collaboration with Unite’s team and our trusted contractor network.
